A few words from the Senior Warden:
THANK YOU THANK YOU
...to Bob Clunie for giving our candidates and other guests the VIP
treatment at your lovely motel free of charge!
...to Marg. Davy for her continuing beautiful bulletin board!
Thinking of bulletin boards, I remind you again to check it out
regularly. Also notice that no one is signed up for coffee hour at both
services.
Notice—Bylaw Amendments
This year the Vestry made two amendments to St. Paul's Bylaws. One is
regarding accepting gifts and the other is regarding discretionary
funds. The Bylaws state that these amendments must be brought before
the congregation at least 2 weeks before a congregational meeting which
will be our annual meeting on January 29.
Please read these and maybe even bring them to the annual meeting
because you will have to vote on them.
Amendments to the Bylaws of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church,
Cambria, California
Diocese of El Camino Real, State of California
A California non-profit religious corporation
From this date forward, the policy of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
regarding gifts to the Church shall be as follows:
#10 The Vestry shall have the right to determine the
acceptability or non-acceptability of receiving the gift. This
shall include all bequests, charitable lead trusts, insurance policies,
and securities or gifts of any kind. These gifts shall be
expended in a realistic, timely manner and suited for the character of
the Church.
From this date forward, the policy of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
regarding discretionary funds dispensed by the Church shall be as
follows:
#11 Regarding discretionary funds, these funds
are classified as temporarily restricted funds of the
congregation. As such, these funds are subject to audit even if
they are kept in a separate checking account. However, the
individual responsible may be permitted to maintain confidentiality
over the expenditures of the fund disbursed for the direct assistance
of named individuals. The manner in which the audit is done must
be determined and jointly agreed to by the responsible individual and
the Vestry.
