Robin Denney to Preach on March 5!
Who, you ask, is Robin Denney?! She is a
remarkable young lady who is coming to talk to St. Paul’s about
her call to missionary work with the Episcopal Church. You may
remember reading in the November 2005 edition of The Epistle about her
and the time she spent in Mississippi helping with hurricane
relief .
Robin is 24 years old, the middle of three girls, a
graduate of Paso Robles High School and of UC Davis where she
specialized in Agriculture. She has worked in our state Capital,
been an intern in Washington, D.C., been an Assistant Vineyard Manager,
and an Event Coordinator for a non-profit group. As mentioned
above she volunteered with the Red Cross and the Lutheran/Episcopal
Disaster Response Team in Biloxi Mississippi. She will be heading
back there late in March taking people and supplies with her!
On March 5 Robin is going to talk about the Young
Adult Service Corp—an Episcopal group that sends young people abroad
for a one year mission. She does not yet know her assignment or
when she is leaving. What she does know is that she must raise
most of the money to cover her expenses for the year. She will be
asking you to join her in making this year a possibility.
Robin has preached several times at St. Luke’s and
is extremely articulate about her faith and her conviction that God is
calling her to missionary work.
